Woodio delivers over 400 customised washbasins for the new Valo Hotel & Work concept hotel opening next summer 2020 in Helsinki.
Valo Hotel & Work is a completely new service and space concept that serves multiple uses at different times of the day – at night it becomes a hotel and during the day it serves as a dynamic modern working environment. The hotel will open its’ doors in summer 2020 in Helsinki.-“Hotel rooms are typically under-used during the day, while office spaces are empty at night. Combining both functions into one concept will result in a more environmentally friendly, economical and better use of two separate properties. We believe that the concept will also be of interest abroad, and we are seeking international growth”, says Andreas Lindqvist, Business Director at SSA Hotels.
Woodio Project Sales Team supports interior design professionals, contractors and builders while working closely with the industry leaders in design projects both for private and public spaces. This year Woodio has the privilege to deliver over 400 customised washbasins for the new communal lifestyle hotel Valo. Head of Woodio Pro Jenna Tikkanen says, “The Valo Hotel & Work had very specific requirements to begin with. They had a clear vision of the functionality, design and material. Woodio managed to fit the brief on all of those areas. We worked closely together with the SSA Group interior designer Minna Hurme and Jari-Petri Voutilainen from Pentagon Design to come up with the final product – a wall hung monoblock washbasin that is easy and time efficient to install at the site.”

The hotel has 422 rooms on a total of seven floors, all of which are used for both accommodation and work. In addition, the hotel has a restaurant, a café and a lounge bar, as well as a fun 7th floor outdoor terrace with a sauna. Rooms and meeting rooms will be available for booking in the fall of 2019.
The Valo Hotel / Work is especially designed for the business travelers and businesses who need accommodation, meeting or coworking spaces. It also serves businesses that need their own office or more occasional flexible workspace with hotel-level services. “We make commuting more efficient. Time is saved when unnecessary movement between properties is eliminated. The location of the hotel has also been selected with the business travelers in mind. It is quick to get to the center, but at the same time we are outside the peak of traffic congestion. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the airport, ”says Lindqvist.
