Woodio’s bestselling model Soft40 table top has been awarded with a Special Mention at the German Design Awards 2021 in the “Excellent Product Design – Eco Design” category.
The German Design Awards are the international premier prize by the German Design Council. The goal of the awards is to discover, showcase and recognise design makers who play a pioneering role within the international design landscape. The German Design Awards, which were first initiated in 2012, are amongst the world’s most renowned design awards and enjoy a prestigious reputation that extends well beyond specialist circles.
The German Design Awards set the highest standards in terms of selecting their winners. In the nomination process, expert committees of the German Design Council only invite those products and communication design services to participate in the awards who demonstrably stand out from the competition on account of their design excellence.
Woodio’s Special Mention award for the Soft40 table top in the Excellent Product Design – Eco Design category pays tribute to Woodio’s consistent design conception and implementation. This mark of excellence is especially awarded for innovative design and the quality of the products.

This year a number of Finnish companies have been recognised for various feats of innovation at the German Design Awards. The winners for each category are selected by a separate expert German Design Awards jury. This year, nine nationalities were represented on the jury with design experts from the areas of business, academia and science, as well as well known figures from the design industry. All jury members are eminent figures in their fields. See the full list of winners here.
The German Design Award ceremony is to be held in February 2021.

Hotel Jansen Amsterdam Bajeskwartier is a new hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands, that opened its doors in May 2023. Many of the interior details are locally handmade. The cozy rooms and restrooms of the restaurant are equipped with practical and stylish Woodio washbasins.
The Finnish Forest Association is a co-operation organization for communication about forests that speaks about their sustainable use and invites participation in pluralistic debate about them. Their headquarters are located in Kamppi, at the heart of Helsinki, Finland.
