We are on a mission to fight climate change and do continuous work to further reduce our carbon footprint. Therefore we are happy to start collaboration with Kuusakoski Recycling in the recycling and reuse of the Woodio material.
An estimated 3% of the products we manufacture don’t pass our internal quality control. Until now, these pieces have been disposed of as energy waste. From now on, the pieces will be collected and delivered to Kuusakoski for sorting and crushing. The crushed material is then utilized by Finnsementti Oy in cement production. The new recycling route for Woodio composite is part of the Finnish KiMuRa project.
“We are constantly developing our operations to further reduce our carbon footprint” – states Woodio CEO Terja Koskenoja.
The recycling route of our wood composite also gives a new life to Woodio products at the end of their lifecycle. “In the future, it will be possible to return your end-of-life Woodio product to our factory in Helsinki, where we will take care of its recycling”, – concludes Koskenoja.

Hotel Jansen Amsterdam Bajeskwartier is a new hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands, that opened its doors in May 2023. Many of the interior details are locally handmade. The cozy rooms and restrooms of the restaurant are equipped with practical and stylish Woodio washbasins.
