The hotel’s style, which respects its traditions while aiming for modern luxury, is particularly visible in its renovated bathrooms, where both responsibility and aesthetics have been considered. Luxurious and timeless bathrooms as a goal

According to Hotel Manager Marika Haavisto, the goal of the bathroom renovation was to create spaces that exude timelessness and luxury, but also fit perfectly with the hotel’s image. “We wanted to use materials that last for years but are also easy to clean,” says Haavisto. Sustainability and responsibility were key in making choices, and these values guided them to select Woodio’s products.

Why Woodio?

The choice to use Woodio’s products was not accidental. Previous experience with Woodio’s washbasins and bathtubs in the hotel’s Loft House had convinced Haavisto’s team. “The products have proven to be durable and easy to maintain, and both guest and staff feedback has been positive,” Haavisto notes. Woodio’s range also now includes the Block toilet, which provided the finishing touch the hotel’s bathrooms needed. Custom-made basin countertops, along with matching toilet seats, ultimately met the hotel’s space requirements perfectly.

Elegance and durability

Hotel guests have noticed the elegance of the bathrooms and the unique material of the products. The countertops and toilets made from Woodio’s wood composite have sparked interest among visitors, many of whom have inquired about the products and where to purchase them. “When we mention that it is a Finnish design product made from wood composite, the interest increases even more,” Haavisto says.

Sustainability and responsibility as priorities

Initially, there were some prejudices associated with Woodio’s products, especially regarding durability, as wood composite was not a familiar material to everyone. However, user experiences have shown the products to be very durable and easy to clean.

Large tiles and high-quality showers supporting comfort

Minna Saukko from Laattapiste, who was involved in the design, notes that the luxurious atmosphere of the bathrooms was created with carefully selected materials. Large tiles, such as the light Silver Roots and dark, glossy Brazil from Aventura, as well as other tiles used in the project, like Cosmos and Future in the Platinum shade, bring visual impact and depth to the spaces. Additionally, Grohe’s Essentials series faucets and showers, which meet Green Key environmental program requirements, enhance the bathrooms’ comfort and environmental friendliness.
